Age Limit

    The Candidate should have completed the age of 17 years but not 22 years as on 1st August 2011.

Academic Requirement

    Candidate must have undergone regular Academic course in a regular school as a full time student for 12 years.(HSC or +2 or Equivalent)

Qualification Equivalence

    All qualifications recognized as equivalent to +2 stage qualification of an Indian Board(10 years of formal academic programme at secondary education level followed by 2 year programme at higher secondary level recognized as entry level academic qualification for admission to any bachelor degree programme in any recognized Indian University) with a pass or satisfactory grade in Mathematics and English, Physics and Chemistry as essential or compulsory subjects of study in 12 year programme or Intermediate or senior secondary or higher secondary or GCE/IGCSE/GCSE as the case may be from a recognized institution.Some specific equivalent programmes are tabulated for reference/guidance.

ELIGIBILITY FOR M.Sc

Nationality

The applicant for admission should be a Resident / Non Resident Indian National. Foreign students need not write VTUEEE .

Age

    Candidates who have not completed 25 years of age as on 1st July of the year in which admission is sought are eligible . However, in the case of Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Physically Challenged (PC) candidates, upper age limit shall be relaxed by 5 years. Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/University certificate only will be taken as authentic

    A relaxation upto six months may be granted by the management in specific cases.

Qualifying Examination

Candidates appearing for the VTUEEE should have either completed or shall be appearing in, any one of the following qualifying examinations:

The final examination of the 10+2 system of Higher Secondary Examination conducted by any State Board; Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi); The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE, New Delhi) (or)
Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/University (or)

High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or equivalent and

Candidates who have studied in Regular, Full time and Formal Academic or Vocational Education stream alone are eligible to apply.

   

Eligibility Criteria in the qualifying examination:

          1. A pass in +2 (or its equivalent).
          2. Candidates hailing from Jammu and Kashmir and the North Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura have to produce CERTIFICATES TO PROVE NATIVITY.
          3. These documents should be produced at the time of counselling, failing which they will not be considered for admission.
          4. Those appearing in 10+2 (Class XII) final or equivalent examination in April/May may also appear in VTUEEE for consideration of provisional admission.
          5. In case the marks statement is not produced by the candidates at the time of admission, the decision of the Management regarding his/her eligibility and admission to the programme shall be final.
          6. For purposes of consideration for award of the Vel tech Mahatma Gandhi National Merit Scholarships, the state from which the candidate has studied and appeared for the Qualifying examination(12th standard Examination of the state or central board)
            will be taken as the state to which the candidate belongs to, for ranking, eventhough the nativity of the candidate may be another state or Union territory.

Subject Combinations Required

        Subject combinations required in the qualifying examination for admission to B.Tech. Shall be as prescribed by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), i.e the candidate must have passed the 10+2 or its equivalent with Physics & Chemistry with Mathematics as compulsary papers for admission to any branch of B.Tech Degree programmes
